zelda will mainly giggle, hand over her mouth, when in the presence of most polite company so as not to come off as obnoxious to those around her. however, when she's in a more relaxed setting, she'll throw her head back and laugh loud as hell over a lot more than you'd otherwise think could make her laugh. she's very guarded with whom she shares that kind of happiness and expression with.

to zelda, guilt feels like waking up every day knowing that nothing she does that day will be what anyone needs her doing, which is figuring out her alleged powers. it feels like avoiding her father for days on end because she's been researching the sheikah tech. it feels like a tightness in her lungs when people ask how her training's going and she lies to their faces, because nobody can stomach the truth of her predicament. it feels like hiding down empty halls and in the middle of the woods with her knight for just a moment of reprieve from the world at large, his mouth on hers. it feels like wanting to give up and die when the calamity happens, when almost everyone she knows and loves is dead (or very likely will be soon) and there's nothing she can about it until she's on the verge of losing the only thing she has ever gained out of her own want — link. guilt feels like coming back a hundred years later, burning with a desire to fix what has been broken for the last century, and finally help her people recover.
[ 💼 ]ㅤ.ㅤwhat do they always carry with them ?
regardless of where or when zelda is, she's always got at least one journal on her person (and the sheikah slate, once in her possession) because you never know when you'll need to write something down or draft a quick sketch with how big and interesting the world is. she has so many journals and diaries, they take up quite a bit of room on her bookshelves in both her room and her study.
