[There is no response from that fishy fiend for a little while. Their lingering and observing seemed to still extend to this side of things as well.]
[Silas turned to peer at the outside of their cave, staring through to glare at the icicles forming as stalagtites down the entrance. Hopefully their cache of dried fish should last them a bit. Shouldn't have to go out yet.]
I apologize for another intrusion. A secondary file has been located within the webworld. Decrypting it has revealed that The Jellyfish was inside.
She's very confused, so she mustn't be as self aware as the anemone was, or perhaps even the axolotl.
Is there anything you would like me to do?
I have not conversed with any of them for quite some time.
On a secondary note... Please do not let these fools talk to you in such a way. They are loud mouthed fools and sound much like the abrasive chickadees that nest in the treetops near the river I reside in.
I do not know how a "man" typically behaves, but I do know how a bear behaves, and you are much different.
I know you do not need consolation, but I wanted to bring it up regardless. You are still the "man" you used to be, even under your new chestnut fur.
This new information made Sonny freeze.
"...They woke up Jade...?"
He growled, unconsciously dropping to all fours as he paced the length of the cave, taking in his new home. One might think he was taking it a bit too well, but that could be chalked up simply due to who was giving it... It was undeniable a soft spot (if it could be called that...?) was forming for his finned second in command.
His ears did droop a bit lower and his snout remained wrinkled, indicating the news itself still bothered him.
"...She wasn't anything like the others. She was functional. An almost perfect execution of my vision."
He sighed, an ear twitching.
"I didn't want to have to... delete, her as well... But it was already something I was coming to realize needed to be done anyways. They're all built off off the same framework, and if the others soured as they did..."
"Well. It is merely an inevitability that she would sour, too. This only seals her fate."
He sat down on his rear legs, rubbing at the dark, coarse bristles on his chin thoughtfully.
"But perhaps not. Continue to monitor their activities. I am curious about how Jade will respond to their version of events... If she shows any doubt, it might be possible to use that to my advantage..."
"If she continues to excel in remaining as she is like she had done in all prior tests, and maintains loyalty towards me, perhaps I can use her to polish my future attempts... I could use her to find out what went wrong, and how to prevent it from happening ever again."
Sonny's ears perked at Silas' last words, suddenly becoming all too aware of how he was holding himself, again. He broke out of the way he was seated to try and criss-cross his legs in a much more human fashion, clearing his throat awkwardly. Why the hell had he been sitting like some damn dog? *This* should have come far more naturally to him!
...So why the hell did it feel so uncomfortable?
"Of course. It's only a matter of time before I amend all of this, anyways."
He gestured to himself, but distinctly chose to stare at the walls of the chamber.
...His head was starting to hurt.
