#sigrid interaction.

             now   ,   sigrid   would   never   claim   to   be   a   holiday   person.   she'd   grown   up   where   holidays   meant   events   and   red   carpets   ,   and   it   hadn't   been   until   she   moved   back   in   with   her   aunt   that   she   actually   had   a   christmas   that   she   remembered.   søren   was   ,   of   course   ,   the   opposite.   he   was   like   a   little   kid   on   …   well   ,   christmas   whenever   the   air   began   to   get   cooler   and   the   decor   began   to   shift   to   a   more   christmas-y   theme.   "isn't   this   awfully   early   ?"   she   asked   amusedly   ,   as   she   caught   her   husband   pulling   in   their   christmas   decorations   out   from   storage.   all   five   boxes   ,   not   counting   the   many   trees.   "it's   not   even   december   yet   ,   love."

             "so   ,   how   was   your   first   day   of   orientation   ,"   sigrid   asked   as   she   leaned   against   the   doorframe   of   their   quarters   at   the   school.   it   was   smaller   than   their   home   that   they   normally   lived   in   ,   but   they'd   spent   years   making   this   place   into   a   home.   "i'm   very   confident   in   the   sign - ups   i   got.   i   think   i   have   you   beat   this   year   ,   again."   it   was   only   slightly   teasing   in   tone   ,   but   sigrid   loved   the   way   they'd   bicker.   "i   bet   you   at   least   fifty   —   no   ,   a   hundred   people   to   sign   up   for   my   classes."   she   toed   her   shoes   off   and   stepped   over   to   her   husband   ,   kneeling   in   front   of   him   to   help   him   with   his   leg.   "is   it   bothering   you   ,   my   love   ?"

             "what   do   you   think   ?"   sigrid   asked   softly   ,   coming   up   next   to   the   visitor   as   they   were   quietly   standing   in   front   of   the   sculpture.   it   was   one   of   sigrid's   favourites   ,   the   tangled   web   of   emotion   so   obvious   in   it   structure   ,   even   with   the   lack   of   facial   expressions.   "sometimes   i   like   to   stand   in   front   of   it   and   just   …   not   think.   just   feel."

             after   the   fiasco   inside   ,   sigrid   was   almost   relieved   to   feel   the   chilly   winter   air.   she   rubbed   her   hands   together   ,   trying   to   regain   some   heat   ,   but   it   all   was.   wiped   from   her   mind   as   her   daughter   reappeared   by   her   side.   "oh   ,   you   still   look   so   beautiful   ,   sweetheart."   sigrid   wrapped   her   into   a   tight   hug   ,   feeling   nothing   but   pride   in   her   heart.   it   was   always   emotional   ,   seeing   signe   grow   into   her   own.   something   that   she   always   managed   to   mention   every   time   they   spent   time   together.   "you   look   so   grown.   is   that   weird   to   say   ?   am   i   being   too   much   ?   you'd   tell   me   ,   right   ?"

             sigrid   had   no   idea   where   she   was.   the   aptitude   test   had   started   out   normally   ,   but   somewhere   it   had   all   changed.   sigrid   couldn't   remember   when   she   left   the   cold   room   where   the   tests   were   in   favour   of   …   this.   sigrid   was   back   in   sweden   ,   felt   as   young   as   eight   -   nine   years   old   ,   and   her   parents   were   yelling   about   another   made   up   test   that   she'd   failed   without   knowing   that   she   was   participating   in   it.   the   night   sky   was   dark   ,   why   was   she   outside   ?   ,   and   looming.   in   the   corner   of   her   eye   she   could   see   the   ruins   of   what   once   must   have   been   a   plane.   ale   ,   she   thought   absentmindedly.   but   why   would   she   know   who   alejandra   was   ?   it   was   at   least   thirty   five   years   too   early   for   them   to   meet.   still   ,   she   approached.   "alejandra   ?"   she   called   out   ,   hearing   how   young   her   voice   sounded.   "are   you   there   ?"
