Excuse the tears in my eyes, but: I had the most fantastic deaf clientele come in-- two sweet teenage girls with their hearing mom. I did a nose ring change out for one of the daughters which hurt due to her having an incorrect size in previously. I did my best to explain why it hurt and did my best to comfort her. Afterwards, I spoke with them a little longer on why I was learning ASL. Not only do I simply love it, but I work two blocks from FSDB and we get a lot of clientele that have a hard time communicating. Just being who I am, I care so much for everyone and want to help anyone to the best of my ability. (My mom always called me tender-hearted, but honestly I am just a feeling person.) They were so patient although I have to fingerspell a lot due to teaching myself mostly online and not having face to face practice. Okay, I'm ranting at this point because I am so emotional. I finally earned my Sign Name. They said it was because I had a beautiful smile and we were all in tears because it was such a special moment. These are the moments I live for.
