Signaling for Help:
Man-made geometric patterns (straight line, circle, triangle, X) get attention. Universal signs of 3 markers or an "X" indicate trouble. 1. Use noise-makers. Don't shout to conserve energy and prevent throat injury (International Whistle Codes). DON'T use audible signals if you do not want to alert bad guys. 2. Build a signal fire to make dark smoke (burning rubber/plastic) 3. In a clearing, setup contrasting materials 4. A shiny object (mirror, foil, etc.) to create a flash of sun 5. Flare gun or Sea (water) Dye Markers 6. Spread clothing on the ground or in the top of a tree 7. Shine flashlight at people, boat, plane, car 8. Shoot 3 gunshots into the air 9.
