Hey, Chara! Remember that endless dark void you were in before! WELCOME BACK TO IT! FEEL THE COLD, THE DESPAIR, THE FEAR OF BEING DEAD. TRY AND CALL FOR HELP, I DARE YOU. BUT THIS TIME, IT'S JUST LIKE BEFORE. NO. ONE. WILL. COME. YOUR FAMILY IS GONE AGAIN. YOU. ARE. ALONE. ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
Anonymously send my muse a nightmare. A nightmare about their past and/or deepest fear, have them wake up in sweat and tears.
Dark. Darker. Yet Darker.
How long were they asleep? How did they get there? Where were they?
They remember asking all of those questions. They were lost, confused, and scared. Where was mom? Where was dad? Where was…
The plan. What had happened to the plan? Where was Asriel? He absorbed their SOUL, therefore he should still be here. Where was he? What was going on? What—
*Kill them.*All of them.*KILL THEM ALL! ASRIEL!!
Ah. That’s right. They were attacked once they made it to the village. And they tried to take control of their body. They wanted to kill everyone there. They wanted to take revenge on those that had tortured, abused, and ridiculed them. They wanted those disgusting humans to feel every bit of pain and fear that they had felt. The plan may have been to get enough SOULs to shatter the Barrier, but they didn’t care about any of that—their hatred for humanity was stronger than their love for their family, so they would do anything they could to bring about their vengeance.
But Asriel had refused. He had fought back against Chara’s control and prevented them from killing everyone. In the end, he took them back to their home, wounded from the human’s attack. When they returned, Asriel collapsed and perished, taking Chara’s SOUL with him.
Idiot. What an idiot. They said they had wanted to free everyone, but they let their foolish desires take hold. Because of their twisted desires, their best friend and brother was dead. They were dead. In the end, they really were a demon.
They didn’t want to accept this fact, though. Their SOUL was gone, but for some reason, they could still feel their consciousness. Why were they still ‘alive?’ What was this dark void? Naturally, they were confused. So they yelled out, desperately believing that, somehow, something could save them.
Nobody came. No one was there to save them. Toriel wasn’t there. Asgore wasn’t there. Asriel wasn’t there…
They were back to their life on the surface. They were alone…
Nobody was there for them.
*…*…*…So ghosts can have nightmares, too?
As their senses slowly returned, the apparition of the child materialized next to the bed of their sleeping host. Slowly glancing at Frisk, Chara sighed. Were they having the same nightmare? They hoped not. The last thing Frisk needed was to dream of these memories.
