Honestly, most of the folks I've known a really long time aren't really active on tumblr anymore and/or we've disconnected in some way. HOWEVER, there is someone I stay connected to who is still here very intermittently and that's @sightburdened, so I will happily yap about her! Plus, I think she could certainly use the positivity rn.

I can't exactly remember how long it's been since we first connected or how? But we spent a good chunk of time losing our minds together over G.ood O.mens, we wrote C.rowley and A.ziraphale together for a little while lmao. We did a lot of writing and chatting back then and Belle's writing has always had such a smooth, flowing rhythm and it's also very intricate and emotional. Every muse she writes, she gives them such intricate depth and I've always really loved it and enjoyed writing against her.

As a person, she's always been incredibly warm and kind, so when we do reconnect and talk these days / update each other on our lives and such, it feels very genuine. She's been going through a lot of shit these last few years and its kept her from being here as much as she'd like to, BUT ... I really hope she finds a consistent way back. I miss writing with her and hope to do so again someday — either way, I'm happy to be her friend and offer support when she needs some. 🫂❤️

CROWS HEAD CANE:

For Context: Kaz broke his left leg dropping from the rooftop of a bank when he was 14. The bone never set right, so he experiences chronic pain and walks with a limp. Of course, he does use his cane as a walking stick to ease some of the pain and to help him walk. HOWEVER ... the cane was crafted by a Grisha Fabrikator. It's lead lined and is specifically weighted to break bones while the beak is sharp enough to cut through flesh pretty easily. He also uses it to jab at people's pressure points, if necessary.

ANYWAY. Kaz wouldn't admit it out loud, but having his cane brings him tremendous comfort and reassurance. Being forced to leave it behind or not use it for long periods of time causes more physical pain of course, but it also just sets him of balance emotionally. In the first book, SOC, he has to go without it during the Ice Court Heist and ... he has A Rough Time. So Kaz has quite the deep emotional attachment to his cane.

KNIVES:

Kaz keeps roughly about three knives hidden within his clothes somewhere at all times, including a tiny oyster shucking knife that he keeps in his sleeve. In the Barrel, there's a constant feeling of danger, where someone cannot let their guard down for even a moment — so it's always incredibly important to be prepared to defend yourself and/or kill. So for Kaz, the knives offer more reassurance and security. He's Always Ready To Stab A Bitch.™

GUNS/PISTOLS:

In both the show and the books, Kaz seems to rarely use them. My personal headcanon is because there's very little control over the outcome ( i.e. it is primarily used solely for killing ) unless you shoot for nonlethal areas. But even then, you have limited control of how far in the bullet goes, which parts of the body it explicitly pierces, ect. ... unless you're a Fabrikator, really. Despite his ruthless reputation, he doesn't kill unless he needs to ... or unless someone deserves it, in his eyes, because he is a vengeful creature. If he doesn't deem they deserve to suffer instead of die, that is.

Positivity time || Accepting

"All too often," Will (@sightburdened) says, his mouth parting around his words, the taste of wine still heavy on his tongue, "people are blinded to all but their immediate self-interest, Dr. Lecter."

"Would you say your self-interest for the night is the bottle of wine? … and the rate at which you're consuming it." Will doesn't take in the comforts of alcohol often; he's never known him to slur his words with the substance alone. He also figures Will's tolerance to alcohol wasn't as high as his own. The white wine bottle sits adjacent to him, nearly drained of it's contents.

Pushing his chair back from the table, he gathers the dinner plates, his treat again. It takes very little time for Hannibal to compose the layout of a masterful meal, even when Will's impromptu visits arise. "In the line of self-interest, we find people covet. We begin to covet with tangibles. What are you coveting, Will?" He asks as he bends his knees to scoop his dish, which is measurably picked clean. It satisfies him.
