i can't believe Since First I Saw Your Face got an update!! and it's nearing the end which makes me really sad. this fic is just something else. out of all the 17 chapters, is there a chapter or a line or a moment which struck you deeply? (p.s. i love your own works as well, they are mini gems of love ♥)
Thank you so much! ♥ It’s extraordinary! I’ll be so glad to see them happy together in the end, but it is hard to let them go. The joy of it is that it flows so well with canon that I don’t feel it will end, but only continue as they do through all Doyle’s works, with the added depth @artemisastarte has given them. There are two moments I think of immediately, even though it’s hard to pull out a part I love from such a rich whole: one is the introduction of Edward Carpenter, who I hadn’t known of before this fic, and whose life and writings mean a lot to me now. The second is the simple, piercing line at the end of the first chapter, the moment of surrender: “He had taken my citadelled heart by storm, and it had fallen to him without resistance.”
