okay this is like really petty because i didn't want to say it to someone's face, but i neeed to talk about it sorry

i understand projecting your trauma and experiences onto your ocs, especially as it concerns rape/sa. THAT BEING SAID, there is a way to be tactful with it. if it isn't important to your character's story, then it shouldn't be included, sorry not sorry. cus wdym almost all of your characters have sa being used as a plot device???

and this is especially pertinent to children characters. including it without having it really mean anything to the characters is useless and feels gross. it's just angst slop and disrespectful to victims. maybe i'm thinking to deep into it, but it doesn't matter if youre part of what you're portraying if you're not portraying it well. not everything has to be meaningful, but when you're covering a topic as serious as RAPE, then you need to be mindful of yourself

the whole idea of "my ocs need to be sad and angsty" is stupid to me. people aren't always sad and angsty. people, even in the darkest situations, can still find joy. while there's nothing wrong with specializing in tragedies, there's a point where it becomes boring.

i feel like i'm being too serious about this. not everyone is trying to write amazing characters, but it's just...... irritating, i guess,,....

??? what??? i have an A or B in all of my other classes. the only one i'm failing is his. i wish more educators would get off their high-horse and realize that sometimes the fault is not that of the students, but of their own.

it's especially annoying because my school has a policy specifically about algebra 1: students who fail are forced to take a credit make-up course or attend summer school. if neither of these options are available, they go to the alternative school (aka, the school for kids who repeatedly fail classes, are troublemakers, or require special care. it's NOT a good school in the slightest.)

how are you going to teach the most important freshman class and not put any effort??? are we serious???

not to mention how frequently he crashes out on us over the littlest things. once, no one answered a question he asked (because we didnt know how to do the math problem) and he told us all that if we didn't want to learn, then we might as well just teach ourselves!!... and then made us just.... google how to do the questions the entire class. he refused to teach us for the rest of the class (40 minutes out of a 50 minute class).

i really don't want to take summer school. his class is dragging down my gpa, which will affect the it for the rest of high school. i want to be the first person in my family to attend a prestigious college and graduate. (which is becoming less and less attainable in america, honestly)

people in another class are planning on bringing the issue of his lackluster teacher to the principal, which i am in support of, but i doubt it'd do anything of substance,,
