I KNOW SERIOUSLY the 'it' thing doesn't work when talking about it to other people. ..like right there. And it just prefers no name at all, like a non-being I guess? I tend to refer to them as 'my Swedish friend'. I also slip and use 'they' a lot. (edit: like I just did, oops)

Not a relative of mine. But a relative of my brother-in-law. His mother. I want to be there for him. He's one of my closest friends and I rely on him for support and I want to be there for him. He hasn't been handling the loss of his mother well.
