Claudia knew the dangers of what she was doing, or at least she thought she knew. With her father now a traitor -she wouldnβt think on the circumstances, not yet, she was still getting over what heβd commanded her brother to do- it was only a matter of time until the Guard raided the quarters of the former High Mage of Katolis and then who knew what could be lost or destroyed.
It was not yet dawn, and she was alone. Claudia had told no-one, not even Soren, because he was still a Crownsguard and she wouldnβt ask that of him. No, she was alone with her materials, a few spells on the back of her mind and a door that opened for her with close to no problems.Β
She couldnβt take the books or scrolls, that was too obvious, but she took some of the rarest components, a few jars of the basics and what she thought that wouldnβt be noticed later. She also took an amulet, a lonely scroll and three unlabeled vials, and only then whispered the two spells that would allow her to close the door and leave undetected.Β
Claudia didnβt breathe properly until she was back in her quarters, the materials safe behind those sheβd always kept in her room. Sheβd later ask Ezran, now King Ezran, to be given authority over her fatherβs laboratory and supplies, but sheβd wanted to be cautious.Β
The sun had fully left the mountains when Claudia prepared a few spells for protection, binding and containment and finally read the letters engraved in the back. She hoped nothing of the sort would be needed, but sheβd been taught better than to be careless.Β
It was only when nothing happened that she made the choice and read the words backwards, the incantation turning her eyes ink-black.Β
