(Un)Serious Toy Rant
I kinda want to get my hands on the Devastation Sideswipe figure but I'm being held back by the obvious and glaring fault that it has: the wrong fucking headsculpt.
Like my brain crashes whenever that figure comes into my vicinity. All I can see is Sideswipe whose head got sawed off, only to be replaced with Red Alert's (but painted black like Sideswipe's).
This screenshot gave me something else to feel dreadful about: He looks like the son of Sideswipe and Red Alert and I fear that I cannot unsee it now. I can only imagine one scenario where the two bots got too freaky one night (with too much engex in their tanks, obviously) and this dickface was somehow born. Don't ask how. The parents look truly ashamed, just look at them β

And the funniest part is that even after knowing all of this stuff that makes me Definitely not wanna buy this Dick (iykyk), I can't help but keep looking at it with a grimace on my face, gazing at it stubbornly whenever I'm searching for new figures (because there's only a few options on the market rn that pique my interest - I'd much rather get a Red Alert but good luck finding that). Like when something looks so abysmally wrong and stupid that it starts to look more intriguing the more you stare at it. Imperfect visual traits on a toy is something you could get used to i guess, like i still haven't had the urge to punch my Cyberverse Wheeljack's odd looking face.
Even still, I'm not sure if it would be a wise decision to own this dude, it might just give me nightmares and I'll end up regretting my purchase. Casually losing my marbles here.
The package is giving mixed signals huh. I'm intrigued about the whole process this figure had to go thru at this point. Funny how the package has an image of how the toy was supposed to look like, contrasting with the art that clearly has the shape of Red Alert's head, just like how the end product ended up having.
