Social Innovation Camp 2012 in Kuala Lumpur
Social Innovation Camp is a 48 hour weekend app hackathon that aims to bring together web developers and designers to build applications that solve social problems and which may eventually emerge as an ongoing social venture.
Social Innovation Camp started five years ago in the UK and has since then been run in 16 countries globally from which over 30 new social ventures have been created, with 12 receiving further funding, investment or significant in-kind support just in the UK alone.
SICamp is coming to South East Asia via Kuala Lumpur on November 9 to 11, 2012.
Representing Manila so far would be Proudcloud, who would be sending a team, and possibly @chr1saguilar who is putting together his own team with members from around the country.
If you'd like to participate, please visit http://www.sicampasia.com and send your ideas in before midnight, 19th of October 2012.
I'm hoping that we'll see more philippine teams participating at SICamp and using their coding and design powers for good.
Find out more about how it works, see examples, and start making your own world changing ideas.
You can follow @SICamp_Asia on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.

Broadly, we want to talk about turning hackdays and demos into something more permanent by sharing our experiences of helping others do that and what else needs to exist in this space to help make more of it happen. We might rally a bit of a panel.
