I was seeing this guy for a few weeks/months and then he like, broke up with me, he didn't exactly tell me why which is fair and I don't blame him but since we were never officially together is it still okay for me to feel sad? I don't know if I should regress or distract myself or what :(
Your feelings are 100% valid! You can totally be sad, even if you weren't together officially. I always think avoiding the bad feelings just make them grow, so let yourself be sad for how long it takes for the hurt to pass. I know in these situations the worse is almost always the not knowing the "why", but even that will pass. I think that if you're regressing because if helps you feel better, and not because you want to hide/not deal with your "big" emotions, then you should totally do it. Like I said: it's not healthy to avoid the feelings, especially use regression to do it.
If regression helps you, then go for it. If you think that might be an avoidance technique, then distracting yourself is the better option. Talk to friends if that's the kind of thing that help you, explore new hobbies and interests, etc.
I hope you feel better soon!!
