Sialis lutaria
...is a species of alderfly (Sialidae) which is present in Austraia, Belguim, the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania, and Switzerland. Like other alderflies S. lutaria spends a considerable part of its lifespan underwater as a larvae, S. lutaria larvae are predators and will ambush a range of small invertebrates. Adults are short lived and will only live 2-3 days, during which their sole purpose is reproduction.
