Braveheart and protector of our nation. Condolences and prayers for his family." Actor Jackky Bhagnani shared Lance Naik's picture, captioning it as, "He fought valiantly till the very end. Rest in peace Lance Naik #SiachenBraveheart." Additionally, film director Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, " Lance Naik Hanumanthappa RIP. Royal salute to our braerveheart. ?????? #SiachenAvalanche." Hanamanthappa, who was among the 10 soldiers who were swept away by an ice wall on February 3 while guarding the Sonam post located some 20,500 feet high in the Himalayas, was rescued on February 8 from an altitude of 20,500 feet by a team of over 150 soldiers. On recovery, the soldier was found conscious but drowsy and disoriented. He was severely dehydrated, hypothermic, hypoxic, hypoglycaemic and was in shock. He was immediately resuscitated by the doctors at the site, who had been there for the past 5 days in the hope of a survivor. Hanamanthappa, who hails from Karnataka, was flown to Delhi on Tuesday morning in a special air ambulance and admitted to the hospital.
