Alighting from the Tokyo Water Bus 水上バス cruise via Hinode Station, we were greeted to Asakusa by the smell of hot baked sweet potato or yakiimo! These are old fashioned vans selling an old fashioned treat at astronomically overshot prices! I think my wonder and delight for the humble spuds may have charmed the vendor, giving me both a discount and a few extras on the street food treat.
Diving deep into the night time alleys of Asakusa, which is usually as packed as sardines during the day but during the night it’s a lot more bearable to deal with. With most of the shops finished for the day, the closed shutters revealed dozens of gorgeous art murals to admire and behold.
