Send me ❤ for my muse to kiss yours.
It was a miracle, Jataro believed, that the four Soldiers of Hope had survived. Was it by the despair of Junko, or the hope of the Future Foundation, or Monaka’s leadership? The artist preferred to think it was their own abilities that had gotten them this far. Led by Nagisa, with Kotoko’s assistance, and Jataro and Daimon as the muscle, that was how they had survived to high school age.
Nonetheless, they were still on the run. After all, who was to trust besides each other? Everything had fallen, their plans had crumbled before their fingertips, but the Soldiers of Hope were not going to give up.
Jataro’s childhood crush on Kotoko still remained; if anything, it had grown into a deeper love and admiration as they grew older. Kotoko had blossomed into a beautiful young lady with perfect features and a sharp wit, while he had become quite massive in form once puberty hit.
On one night in particular, while Daimon and Nagisa were arguing in a rather friendly manner (save for their competitive spirits) on what plan of action to take next, Jataro took the chance to sit next to Kotoko. She gave him a begrudging look of acceptance. What was the use of bossing him, of forcing him away like she used to? Rather, the pink-haired teenager gave a sigh and rested her head on his huge chest, using the artist as a pillow.
The two sat like that for quite a long time, listening to the arguing in the distance and the sounds of the other breathing. The moon was a perfect orb, and although it was a bit chilly, the night was crystal and beautiful. Almost, Jataro thought, as pretty as Kotoko is.
It was most likely Jataro who leaned over first to press his lips against hers, but the kiss was more of a mutual thing. Perhaps he moved first, but she leaned into it just as much as he did.
It was quickly broken apart as Daimon’s arguing became louder, trying to convince Nagisa by usage of obnoxious noise that it was the better plan to go up north and see if they could find Monaka. The artist broke off into shy giggles, while the actress simply turned her head, trying to keep him from seeing her rosy cheeks. And so they returned to watching the moon.
