They say, if you can’t find queer media that represents you, then make it yourself! Well, at least I say it… The movies of south Asia are progressive in small pockets and the literature scene is equally sparse. I know there are many talented writers, artists, and poets on tumblr who are Desi, Queer, and hungry for media that represents us. So let’s come together and create a

✨✨ Desi LGBT Fest!!! ✨✨

Lets pool together our creative brains and come up with stories, poems, essays, art, photographs, as long as it is

Queer in themes- this is inclusive of trans, asexuals, aromantics, and all the other niche identities of the LGBTQIA+

Set around desi characters and/or desi settings. Desi including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Shri Lanka etc.

That’s it! It can be any genre, any desi language, any length.

You can write 5000 words essay on why you think Jay and Viru were gay for each other, you can write a sci fi novel about alien invasion in Bangladesh that only two lesbians can fight off, you can submit photographs that you’ve taken of queer people you know, you can make comic strips of Trans Vikram and Asexual Vetal. literally anything…🧡💛💚💙💜💓

The idea is a rough diamond yet. I have no experience in running a festival of any kind. I welcome inputs and suggestions from all of you. This is a work in progress and I ask all of you to be the contributors.
