This was such a heart-breaking parallel that I picked up on my recent re-watch 💔
The irony that when Kate first arrived to London, her entire dream was living for her baby sister, finding bliss in her happiness and like Edwina says in E08, shining the light on her whilst she was content in relegating herself to the background, having made peace with the fact that she will not have the pleasure of experiencing this love, and never hoping to keep or live one of those dreams for herself.
It was therefore crushing that when things were now slowly going down that route, the route that she has always envisioned and strived so hard to achieve for over 10 years to bring to life, her own heart was now faltering so close to the finish line; a small part of her wanted to be selfish for her own heart, wanted to finally live for herself without the shackles of duty and sacrifice, and for once, breathe for her now forgotten heart...but alas her heart was too altruistic, too selfless to even think of such an act and she could not dream of doing so at the expense of her baby sister.
If I could, I wanted to go into that moment and just give Kate the biggest bear hug ever and tell her everything was going to be alright because how many more sacrifices can an individual make without losing more and more...living as nothing more than just a mere shell of a person 🥺
