Shot List and Storyboard
We divided the video into four 35 second sections so that everyone could do their story boards and shot lists. I used pictures to go with my shot lists so that it would be easy to visualise what it should look like.

Void screaming below.
Ah, the joys of sending a long, descriptive email explaining a process that confuses someone to them, only for them to respond an hour later with a single line focusing on some vaguery like âthe DP and the director generally go over shot lists together with the ADâ and interpreting it as âShe doesnât think I will be directingâ
I appreciate him trusting me to help him understand shot lists, but I can only do so much and I donât really personally need them, the producer does. I need the lookbook I asked him for several weeks ago... and the location radius.. and some bourbon.
If the producer needs the shot list and there is not an AD or DP to go over them and you have 0 experience with shot lists, donât complain about how hard they are to the Production Designer. Talk to the producer- who in this case has been an AD -and get done what you can until you have an AD and/or DP. Donât just stare into space because youâre confused! Aaaaaaagh

Production Diary entry from Siren's director Louise
Three weeks to go! Iâm currently in the process of storyboarding the film and writing up a shot list, this process has got me thinking about the story in a deeper way. Analyzing each detail and action, each bit of dialogue, and thinking about what I want to portray in each shot. During this process I have looked to other directors. Firstly looking at the films of Pedro AlmodĂłvar and I found thisâŚ

A copy of the master shot list I use for Homestuck meetups and convention photoshooots....
Meanwhile some general rules to consider as general talking points at any shoot, meet or gathering:
RULES AND TALKING POINTS PRIOR TO START
--One can modify these to the venue/event in question, but do cover most general and BASIC common sense and general rules ANY shoot should have in place.
ONE: As this particular shoot is a large scale event unto its own because of the size, I will have a master list of ALL the shots to be done at the shoot. Normally for photoshoots I will take requests at the shoot, but for this particular fandom, doing so will bring only absolute chaos, so if the shot is not on the master list of the special pairing request is NOT on the master list, then, itâs likely not gonna happen, unless we have time and it will be done orderly and not screeching at me the pairings.
TWO: Strongly support Cosplay is NOT Consent. This means for all shots, and pairings, if you want to do something with another person, YOU ASK!!!! AND RESPECT THEIR RESPONSE!!! And please keep it Con friendly folks. You get my badge pulled, or I get arrested/charged for illegal or inappropriate shenaniganâs, I will hunt you down and you will not like this VERY angry person.
One will also happily turn you over to con staff, the local authorities or other agencies required.
In lieu of this, this especially extends to kissing people. Just donât. Unless you ask the person and they are fine with a âstage kissâ or such, just donât. You may probably be laughed at you if the other party smacks you. If you and the other party are close enough or know each other well enough (BFFâs, Couple, etc) and donât mind actually locking lips, then fine, but still no sucking face like youâre a soul sucking Dementor from the Harry Potter fandomâŚ.
THREE: I do suggest you be on time, cause if you miss your shot, pairing or other such related shenanigans involving your character, then you outta luck, cause I wonât be redoing a shot for later arrivals. I MIGHT see about slotting in a shot for all the late arrivals if there is time to accommodate you.
Most tend to do group shots for things like Problem Sleuth, Cherubs, Midnight Crew, The Felt, Exiles, Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, and so on near the beginning so if youâre gonna be one of these, I suggest being there near the beginning. There may still be some shots later for the pairings and stuff involving you later, but group shots of that set will be at the beginning.
FOUR: One may have other rules for you, when the con arrives, and these will be explained at the venue. This includes, callings of the pairings, organizing the group and the photographers and so on.
FIVE: Common senseâŚ. SEAL YOUR MAKEUP!!! Some may probably have Tide pens on hand and some makeup towels or something similar for cleaning up makeup mishaps. Yes, if you get your unsealed makeup on someone or on the hotel or convention halls property, ONE SHOULD make you clean it up⌠Be like a brooding overbearing âCon Mother/Paâ on this.
On the subject of cleaning up, YOU WILL LEAVE the space we occupy CLEANER THEN YOU FOUND IT!!! That means pick up your crap, your wrappers and whatever else. Yes, even if it wasn't you who chucked it. Likely have the entire remaining group help with clean up the space before you leave the area. If one can/remember, try even bringing a garbage bag or something so trash, broken stuff, etc can be tossed in it instead of all over the con/venue space. Remember, letâs show the convention, the venue, and the host city that we Homestuckâs have classâŚ.
