Swimsuit season is nearly here and after months of wearing layers it’ll soon be time to swap our coats and jeans for strap tops and cut off denims. Whilst it’s nice to look good there are so many other benefits to getting back into shape - you’ll feel better, be more alert and have more energy just to list a few. If, like our favourite celebs, you like to keep it stylish at the gym then check out our fitness style tips below to help inspire you and get you back onto that cross trainer!
Gwyneth keeps her running attire simple in all black. The addition of a graphic long sleeved top and matching pink and black trainers helps add some character to her look. For those of you who like to cover up when exercising then this is an inexpensive fitness outfit you can easily create at home, which is also practical and comfortable. Invest in some stretchy Capri pants, which are high stretch, supportive and breathable for optimum comfort.
Why run? Running can burn calories, improve circulation and give you complete control of your workout as you can go at your own speed. Regular running has benefits to your mental health as positive endorphins are released when you exercise which result in lifting your mood and improving your self-esteem levels. It also boosts the blood flow to your brain resulting in an increase in brainpower. Better yet, running is free! So there’s no need to sign up for an expensive gym membership, simply map out a safe route and you’re good to go.
Hit a Pilates class like Miley
Miley looks cute and summer ready in her capri pants and cropped stripy t-shirt. The simple style and loose fit of the t-shirt makes it perfect for styling with other gear, meaning you can mix and match your workout kit if and when you feel like it. Style it like Miley with some patterned Capri pants or opt for some running shorts to vary up your gym attire. This type of outfit is great for Yoga, Pilates or a session at the gym.
Miley does a variety of workouts to stay in shape such as dancing and cycling, but she is often quoted saying that Pilates classes and eating right is the big secret to her amazing figure. Pilates is great for strengthening your abdominal muscles as each session focuses on strengthening and toning your body. Pilates can also improve posture, flexibility and muscle strength. For best results Pilates should be done in addition to your usual weekly workout routine such as running or swimming. It’s hard work, but the results are worth it!
