A SNEAK PEAK AT SHOP STUDIOS WORK WITH ARMANI EXCHANGE, HANRO AND A LA VIEILLE RUSSIE!! Known for working with clients like Escada, Ralph Lauren, and Saks, among others, this full service art prop and set shop brings to NYC some of the most innovative window displays. Co-founders Eric Steding and Jacques Rosas' problem solving skills were truly put to the test when executing A|X Armani Exchange’s 2013 Holiday Windows! Armani’s visual team approached Shop Studios with a display concept inspired by a sculpture at the Met, guiding their collaborative design production process. Shop Studios were well into build and execution when it became apparent other stores were working on very similar concepts (undoubtedly inspired by the same beautiful sculpture). With two weeks left before installation, Armani instructed a major design change, requiring every component to be restructured. Rosas and Steding’s first inspiration was to guild with silver leaf to bring the forms together and move away from the glassy, bubbly look of their original vision. Silver leaf is a delicate, time-consuming process that gives sculpture a unique, elegant, hand-made look and cannot be replicated by machine. This technique would bring the artistry aspect of the deer inspiration back into the design, giving it that original edge. The results sparkle on 5th and 51st across from St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The rest of Shop Studios' work for 2013 goes live next week on LA CREATIVE! Be sure to check it out!
