‘THE CORNER BAKERY’ A Chinese bakery
The corner bakery was a staple in the area. School kids would line the streets for their choice of freshly baked bread. The most popular buns ran out within minutes of opening.
It had been 7 years since Veresa last visited, and she remembered it fondly. The rush of lining up early, hoping against all odds that the popular pineapple bun wouldn’t get sold out. Veresa was keen to get one last bun for nostalgia’s sake - but found herself standing in front of a building that hadn’t opened up to the public in months.
There was a notice on the door.
Veresa let out a sigh of relief. The bakery hadn’t closed; they were down for renovation. A grand reopening was scheduled next month!
The team performed spectacularly at the shop reopening, to the owners’ absolute delight. The corner bakery would once again be a staple to a new generation of school kids.
