Ok so

I have to get this out of my system, kinda like that post I once made about takemura’s hideout in cyberpunk

What do we think the meds on Chris’ table were?

The white pills look like ibuprofen to me, at least the ibuprofen I take for my chronic pain and migraines look exactly like it (packaging, shape, being able to cut them in half), but it could also be paracetamol I suppose

The orange and yellow / brown and orange capsules though? There’s some medications in particular that come to mind when I see those colours that I feel could be possibilities

The first one on my list is Temazepam, used to treat insomnia

This one definitely seems plausible considering what he’s seen, suffering from insomnia wouldn’t be a crazy theory, but it could even stem from his air force days

The other ones on my list is Atomoxetine or Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine), both used to treat ADHD

Do we reckon Chris is an ADHD king? I can see it, tbh

He certainly has traits I can recognise from my own ADHD, and I’ve also seen in my personal life how some people with ADHD have really benefited from being in the military (disclaimer: this is ofc not to say people with ADHD should join the military for their benefit)

If we expand our options a little and consider some other capsule colours (because lets be honest, it could also be brown and orange), then 1 that comes to mind is gabapentin, used to treat partial seizures of epilepsy, nerve pain (most commonly used for nerve pain by shingles, but my mum also took it for the nerve pain of her trigeminal neuralgia), but also to treat anxiety

Now, in all honesty I don’t think Chris has epilepsy, considering he was in the air force and continues to be part of military-esque organisations his whole life, but nerve pain or anxiety I can for sure see as very possible, the nerve pain especially in combination with those other pills that might be ibuprofen

Another along the same line of thinking of pain related meds is the ol’ oxycodone, used to manage severe pain

Honestly the thought he might be in so much pain he’d have to take gabapentin or oxycodone of all things does make me very sad, I won’t lie

Especially considering how we ALWAYS see him give 110% in everything he does, physically mentally and emotionally, which those of us with chronic pain know can feel impossible even on our good days

So to think he might have severe chronic pain but just pushes through it all the time, his entire life, and goes beyond human limits still… gods, no, my heart can’t take it

Listen, I’ve always said Chris deserves as much love as Leon, or any of the other cast, and that I’ve never understood why the community is so cold to him (or even downright hateful)

He’s sacrificed just as much, worked just as hard, lost just as much, as all the others

Anyway, as some final words to this weird ass post: of course there’s other meds out there with yellow and orange or brown and orange capsules, these are just the ones I know of that I feel would make sense for him as a character

As for which explanation I think is more likely? I’m personally leaning towards ADHD, but I can also for sure imagine insomnia or anxiety, considering what he’s seen and been through already
