Warning: Castle major spoilers for Beckett's mom's case (who's behind it all) and season 3 finale/some aspects of season 4!!!

See, my list of favourite characters is shamefully masculine. Since I tend to pick them based personal identification, that could either mean that there's an interesting gender crisis waiting for me - or maybe it says more about a character archetype you somehow don't find in women?

Forget the typical "trained professional accidentally acquires annoying civilian consultant", every season you have some shit going on, and the worst of it is usually not even the season finale lol

Some instances:

- S2E18 Beckett's apartment blows up, obviously while she's taking a shower

- S3E13 oh no, we have to distract the security guard, quick let's kiss!! Also our coworkers get waterboarded

- S3E16/17 Atomic bomb! But we don't know where! Also we accidentally got exposed to radiation and have to be quarantined together now! Let's talk about our love lives. But wait, we found the bomb! And then got locked in a freezer together. Nothing to it, gotta cuddle for warmth as we slowly pass out. And the bomb's gone again. Actually we know where though, in this van right in front of us, but what's that? 45 seconds till detonation? Say your goodbyes and hold hands, and then rip out the wires last second and save the day!

- S3E24 crime syndicate with corrupt cops! Explosions! Breakup without ever having been together! The corrupt cop is actually our trusted captain! Who also gets shot! And then Beckett gets shot at his funeral! And Castle confesses his feelings! And then the season's over!

- S4E04 fun hostage situation with Beckett on the phone. And also an explosion. And kidnapping. And domestic violence. But mostly hostages.

- S4E10 we're handcuffed together, in a locked room, in a bed, with no memory how we got here, oh no! No hold on what's that tiger doing in here

- S4E15/16 we lost a body, got kidnapped by the cia, and now we're suddenly trying to prevent WWIII...? Also at some point we get stuffed in a trunk together and unrelated to that we drown in a car

- S4E19 another bomb because why not

- S5E05 but what if...the heroic main character of five seasons was actually a serial killer all along?

- S5E15/16 Castle's daughter gets kidnapped and his absent father turns out to be a CIA agent

- S5E22 oh noo, you stepped on a bomb, now we're stuck here together again!

- S6E02 Shocker, you have been exposed to a deadly toxin and have less than a day to live xx

- S7E01 congratulations, it's your wedding day! Unfortunately your husband crashed his car and will be mysteriously missing for two months before returning as an amnesiac

- S7E15 imagine if all the serial killers in the show so far turned out to be related, wouldn't that be ridiculous? Yeah so about that

- S7E21 okay so: homicide, but on a plane!

- S8E01/02 Your wife is wanted for murder :)

- S8E22 so now that you guys have been married for a year you don't mind us killing the both of you off in the final five minutes, right? But actually you might somehow survive and have three children, we're not so sure ourselves, hope that helps <3

- Season 8 was bad

- they lost some of their spark after Caskett got together

I mean the Rysposito bromance itself is pretty popular, they would be so cute, but unfortunately Ryan and Jenny are also extremely cute so that's difficult - but at the risk of dying on that hill alone: Alexis deserved better than her mid boyfriends Ashley and Owen and whoever else...

I'm sorry but you can't tell me that it wouldn't have been way cuter if she'd had a girlfriend like her grade school bestie Gracie :/
