So for the past two weeks or so, I’ve been researching a lot of things in my spare time. Mainly circulating around Big Corporations & Oil companies and Environmental agencies and how they were started and passed along and maintained (i.e Founders/Presidents & CEOs and their successors & such and also the external groups created to basically make & uphold the rules and regulations that allow these companies to continue doing their jobs/making money) I started with just random food companies, like Pepsi & Coke, just to see who owned how much really. (Really just for shits and giggle but it’s really not funny) then I continued on to the more serious companies like the FDA, CFTC, FCC and the FAA and such, the ones that regulate most things. And God Damnit. There is so much fuckery involved in the rules and regulations and court procedures used to uphold company policies and privileges. And it’s hilarious yet scary how much of this corrupt shit is out there and obvious yet not widely discussed. From laws & regulations being turned down or given the run around due to the connections of those running the courts to those outside of them who still have a major influence in decisions they shouldn’t even be a part of. To some CEO’s or even Senators, literally, previously working for companies they’re asked to make decisions against in order to protect the things we need, yet having their initial ties to the company overlooked in favor of either passing or not passing laws and other regulations. There are so many blatantly obvious misuses of power and nonsensical decisions made by those people in power and those they benefit, and it’s sad that it’s so obvious and actually out there for any one to simply read up on to acknowledge it as fact yet so much of it goes overlooked by the people it actually affects. Simply because we’re too lazy, or in denial, or just don’t want to accept that this semi-perfect future we’ve created in our minds about a life after college or a life after our next mixtape, isn’t really the life that the prior and continuing sequence of events going on in the world depicts for us. Do yourself and the entire world a favor and please start researching this shit on your own. It takes as much time as you spend scrolling on Tumblr at night reblogging protest photos and talking about racism. Especially those of you who believe our government and all it’s agencies are only out to help it’s citizens and better our world. Cause they’re only bettering their wallets and reach and making us all look stupid in the process.
