7. Firm Kiss

Holy shit, she was loud. 

That was the only thing his brain was currently processing. His morning had been chaotic enough, due to the fact he’d only fallen asleep at four in the morning and had been forcefully awoken by his loud ringtone a couple of hours later. He had an extremely painful headache as a result of the fact he’d spent the majority of the previous night drinking, and he was exhausted to the point where he was putting more concentration into trying to stay awake than he was on what he was actually supposed to be doing.

So far, he’d tried almost every tactic he could think of to get the constant bouncing of the ninja he’d been shoved into the company of to stop. He’d asked her as politely as possible (which wasn’t too polite; it was Reno, after all), he’d told her a little less politely, and he’d eventually full-out told her to shut up. 

Had it worked? Not in the slightest.

His grip was tightening on the pen and paper in his hand, the lines on the sheet in front of him running together as he fought yet again to keep his eyes open. Yuffie was speaking once more, words tumbling out of her mouth incredibly quickly, and it was driving him insane. 

Eventually, he’d had enough. He went with the first thing that came to mind, which was to grab her shoulders, and before he really processed what he was doing, his lips were on hers in a last-ditched attempt to quieten her - and, although it may not have been the most sensible reaction, it worked.

He almost sighed in relief right then and there, the sudden silence like some sort of blessed miracle to his ears.
