At this moment, I feel nothing. No joy, no anger, not even exhaustion. I’ve forgotten the taste of strawberries, and I can still hear “YOUR LIFE FADES, PROPHET!” ringing in my ears. This challenge was tuned by the absolute fucking Devil itself, and someone at Blizzard should feel very, very ashamed. I know some people were disappointed when Blizzard said they currently had no plans for a Challenge Mode/Mage Tower equivalent in Battle for Azeroth, but I am relieved.

He does lack the patience for some of his people’s more time-consuming pastimes like meditation and beer-brewing, but he exerts a calming influence over those around him. He prefers to talk problems out before resorting to violence, but when it’s time for the fists to fly, he’s the first (and usually the fastest) to throw a punch, peppering his opponents with insults and wisecracks even as they wither beneath a barrage of strikes; it’s when he gets quiet then his opponents should start to worry. Still, he’s determined not to take life too seriously - and to prevent his friends from doing so as well. BACKGROUND: Shirong was born in Pandaria, growing up in Honeydew Village in the Jade Forest, getting into scuffles, wooing the local girls, and getting into as much mischief as he dared. The relative tranquility of his teenage years were interrupted with the arrival of the Horde and the Alliance on Pandaria’s shores, and first impressions were immediate: he saw how the Alliance took advantage of the well-meaning Honeydew volunteers, and he also saw the motley crew of Horde soldiers who saved them from borderline slavery. Completely entranced by the call of adventure, he happily left Honeydew village behind and tagged along with these adventurers who called themselves the Hidden Hand - much to their chagrin. The Horde warriors fought with grace, skill, and ferocity Shirong had heard of only in legends, and he made up his mind to join them. However, his age (only 17) was an obstacle, and their leader, Vendettarius, made a deal with the young pandaren: train hard and grow up strong, and the Hand would think about recruitment. Vendettarius expected that would be the last they would see of the curious pandaren, but he couldn’t have been more wrong. Now with an actual goal to work towards, Shirong immersed himself completely in the ways of the Windwalker and quickly ascended the ranks of monk trainees first at the Tian Monastery, then at the monastery atop the Peak of Serenity. A year and a half later to the exact day, an 18-year-old Shirong tracked the Hidden Hand down when he joined the pandaren arm of the Darkspear Rebellion. In spite of their initial hesitations about his age and experience, he proved himself a valuable addition to the team in the battle against Warchief Hellscream, and he was formally inducted shortly after Vol’jin took power. Since then, he has been a steadfast frontline fighter and a tireless comedian, keeping the Hidden Hand’s spirits high as much as he can. Recently, he’s also taken on a secondary role as a ‘calming influence’ on Cythrael in spite of the fact that they hated each other when they first met; it worked out, though, because now they’re dating.
