Page 30. ---- Government’s Dictatorial Method Criticized by Witnesses --- VANCOUVER, July 24. - (CP) - Witnesses for the joint trade union conference told the commission investigating west coast ship production that the former six-day system as superior to the present continuous production program.
They said yesterday that shipyard foremen and key tradesmen were agreed that results under the six-day system were superior to continuous production, and that the government’s dictatorial method of enforcing continuous production had affected workers’ morale, resulting in a ‘don’t care’ attitude in regard to production.
