“So... is Hei dead? I mean... last time in the thread he had just gotten shot and... that was awhile ago. Is he still bleeding out? Can I make a joke about him bleeding more than me? IS that appropriate?”

|| While wandering in the woods, Haruhi had noticed a shift in the landscape. As if the colors around her were more vibrant, the dark corners much darker... And she almost felt like she was being watched. ||

“...H-Huh?”

|| All of a sudden, strange creatures of all shapes and sizes appeared from the woods. Some of them Haruhi recognized them from bedtime stories her parents used to tell her, and others were downright nightmarish. ||

“A-Ah!”

|| Haruhi fled, running as fast as her feet could carry her, eventually finding a hollow log to hide in. She saw a pair of human feet approach the exit of the log, but for all Haruhi knew, there was something terrifying attached to them ||

💞 ||: “Ponchi, Conchi, are you sure there’s something dangerous hiding in here?”

Apprehension and wariness coloring expression and tone of voice, her body tense. These icy halls seemed so foreboding... warning of an icy death to the ill-prepared despite being manmade. Tamao could barely manage to observe the area with how she expected any number of demon to jump her from around the corner.

        “Yeah, why would we lie about that, Tammy?”

        “Don’t ‘cha remember your new Master wanted ya to help fight off demons? Just think how happy she’ll be when ya clear out this old place!”

Their eager grins didn’t fill Tamao with much hope that they weren’t lying. Again. It wouldn’t be the first time they’d lured her into trouble so they wouldn’t be bored...

Family is a difficult concept to describe sometimes, especially when your family consists of a number of supernaturally powerful beings and runs a wide range of physical characteristics owing to different animal species that they were given by their creator. Add onto that the feeling of one particular sibling who, despite their all being the same age, was imbued with the maturity and patience to feel responsible for all the rest.

Or, in short, Yomigami’s trying to figure out exactly what’s going on with a certain rooster.
