@cfastralmvses ((it’s the only Tales game that’s more “recent” that I haven’t gotten to play. I may not love all the main characters, but I really want to see Estelle’s, Karol’s, Flynn’s and Patty’s stories first hand. And the combat looks like fun...))
@shinsogi ((I’ll still have plenty of money left in my bank account. Dropping $70-$80 for a game this week won’t be hurting my finances, mire so since I did also get my tax rebates.))

The air in the castle held a solemness that needs no explanation from any member of the small group. Dracula was defeated, the world could breathe without fear once again yet there was that heaviness that weighed on their shoulders. Even though the threat had been eliminated there was still much that had to be done. The desolation was vast across the lands in the castle’s wake. Trevor, Alucard, and Sypha took solace in the castle for the moment. Soon the time would come for them to part ways, for Sypha and Trevor to experience new adventures while they allowed their friend and comrade the time he desired to grieve. He had lost so much, he had lost his mother, was forced to witness the heartbreaking descent of a man. His father, the only family he had left in this world.
Alucard had been dealt a cruel hand by fate when he had to pierce his father through with a wooden stake, to kill his own kin, the man who raised him and loved him so dearly. Who wouldn’t need the time essential to heal from such an ordeal like this? Sypha’s azure gaze took in the books lined up together on the shelves of the bookcases in the laboratory, she had been suppressing this childish curiosity to explore the castle. Even though the castle suffered damage in the fight and siege. Yet there was so much knowledge, so many wonderful inventions, artifacts, and history. How could she not become so fascinated? She was a speaker, after all, this was their livelihood.
Delicate fingers ran across the binds of the books, pausing to pick up a book scan through it and return it to its home on the shelves. An inaudible sigh escapes her as she slumps to the floor her back coming to rest against the wood. A frown came tugging at her busted lip as she took in the mostly destroyed laboratory, she could only think of what it might have looked like before it became destroyed in Dracula’s rage. Her brows knitted together furrowing when she tucks her arms underneath her knees, her chin comes to rest upon them. What if this had panned out differently? What if Alucard had managed to get his father to see the error of his ways. Sypha mumbled under her breath, Sypha glanced around in silence before something caught her interest.
Rising to her feet Sypha approached a wooden desk with books and tools upon it, she noted a mortar and pestle fingers ran over the wood feeling the cedar. She blew off the dust that kissed her fingertips, Sypha knelt down running an index finger along the lower desk drawer. With a soft hum, she managed to break open the lock on the hatch. Prying the door open Sypha felt like a mischievous child getting into her parent's belongings. A soft gasp escapes her as she reaches for the cloth wrapped box, bringing it closer she began to remove the silk slowly revealing a handcrafted antique jewelry box. Crimson was its base color with gold floral engravings on the surface and lining. In its center was a diamond within a gold rose, Sypha was taken back by its beauty.
Slowly she opened the box to take in an ocean blue crystal with gold spirals twining around it to keep it from escaping, picking up the gold chain she studies the crystal with fascination. She was a lover of crystals but found herself having trouble placing which gemstone this could be. Holding it up in the light she noted what appeared to be a rune within its center. She recognized the rune to be that of Norse mythos, placing the box down on the desk Sypha felt the need to share her finding with the males. Sypha slips slightly over some broken boards, she enters the halls calling Trevor and Alucard’s name. She listens for a reply but managed to pick up the sound of their voices. She followed them before peeking over the railing and spotted the pair on the landing that led to the entrance of the castle.
“Oh, Oh! Alucard, Trevor! Look, look at what I found.” She exclaims descending the stairway skipping two steps to reach them faster, she looked up to the men with a vibrant smile. She glances to Alucard and offers a more cheeky smile. “I was exploring the castle, I hope you do not mind. But, I found something that’s quite interesting~” She chimes with a giggle before holding up the chain to reveal the gemstone between the three of them. “I am having trouble placing what kind of stone it is, but I recognize the rune that’s in its center! But this crystal, its energies are powerful and have me quite curious.” She chimes before twining the chain a bit so the crystal would come to rest in her palm.
Sypha’s eyes grew wide when she noticed there was now a circle of runes within the crystal, leaning in she studies them in a momentary surprise. “Strange. There was only one rune in it. But now there’s more, and it reads... Within time lies one’s fate?” She exhales translating in the runes, the crystal began to glow seconds later after her breathing those words. The scholar looked to the males as their surroundings began to spiral and blur around them, the walls of the castle began to fade away as bright lights of different colors and shades danced around the trio. Sypha’s cheeks paled as she felt a wave of uneasiness fall about her form; Sypha reaches out swiftly taking Trevor by the wrist and Alucard by the forearm.
“W-What is happening?” She asks Alucard looking to him with bewildered eyes thinking he’d have the answer for it being an artifact in his father’s castle, the bright lights and spiraling surroundings would fade away as the trio would find themselves falling from the sky towards the forest floor. Their bodies crashing into trees and shrubs forcing Sypha to release Alucard, she and Trevor went rolling into the ground with her head coming to rest on top of his chest. A groan escapes her, her head throbbed and ached from the fall.
Pushing herself off of the Belmont she brushed herself off and glanced around taking in the forest. “W-We’re outside the castle?” She wonders aloud, she slips the crystal into her pocket as she moved through the bushes noting the cliffside that she and Trevor had sat upon. They were definitely outside the castle, but why? Why had the crystal transported them away from the castle? Sypha took steps back to return to the side of her friends with a frown coming to her lips. “Perhaps we should head back to the castle?” She suggests, it wasn’t until she had spoken of the castle did she mention that the castle was nowhere to be found.
“W-Where is the castle?”

The sun had set once again in Wallachia bringing forth yet another cold and unbearable night, the Belnades speaker buried her face into the side of her cloak. She stood beside the dhampir as her gaze fixates on the freshly fallen snow, Sypha had never been fond of the colder months. She always preferred the warmer seasons, she was particularly fond of spring though. It was strange yet disheartening for her to be separated from the Belmont. She hoped and prayed for his safety; the attack on the trio had forced them to part. Trevor insisted he’d lead the small horde away; whilst Alucard whisked away the unconscious Belnades.
But, it had been hours since that had occurred and Alucard insisted they kept moving. Claiming he had faith the Belmont would catch up to them; if he was indeed talented enough and knew how to use his wits. Sypha could not help but feel worried for the Belmont; a worry she chose to keep silent for the moment as Alucard led the way. Sypha came to a halt when Alucard stopped at a fork in the road; she noted his gaze shifting between the paths. Sypha took this opportunity to speak to the dhampir at her side.
“Do you think Trevor is alright? I am worried about him.”
“What if he’s hurt? Or worse? Shouldn’t we go back and look for him? What if he fails to find us, we have traveled so much farther than I feel is necessary. Your speed took us miles away when you were getting me to safety...” She rants as her hands move about using them to express her frustrations. Sypha had despised the fact she had gotten knocked out when the one creature struck her with enough force to send her flying into a tree. “We’re already a three days travel away from Arges and a five days travel from Gresit!” She adds, her ceruleans shaking with concern.
Stepping forward, she reached out for the dhampir her hand touching his sleeve as she noted his gaze hardening slightly on the paths ahead of them; she spotted a fallen post in the center of the snow covered ground. Moving ahead of him, she kneels down and wipes way the snow revealing the names of the towns in the separate directions.

15. Share a random headcanon about your muse!
Ya boy’s been having some really intense , vivid nightmares about murder and cannibalism ever since he turned . He’s Darwinism at its finest , can’t really reconcile the idea that he’s now something entirely different from a human being , that there’s been this massive physiological shift in how his body works , and that drinking human blood is just one of those things he has to do to survive now in the same capacity that eating his 5 a day as human was . So it all subconsciously amalgamates and more often than not , he ends up having these particularly macabre dreams , where he’ll usually have the full vivid dream experience complete with tactile sensations of breaking bones in his hands or having blood drip down his chin , and then upon waking up he usually struggles to separate these from reality !
17. What is something about your muse’s background story that you’ve always wanted to have a thread about?
Honestly ? I don’t think there’s anything in particular . Although , I like to make him suffer , and he certainly had a lot more in the way of misery and psychological trauma floating about around the time he first turned . Which I guess works well with supernatural muses because it’s a fun introduction into how ass deep in denial he is !
