Just because Katara is alive doesn’t mean she’s happy, doesn’t mean that she’s safe. The Dowager Fire Lady kidnapping the daughter of the chief should be an act of war. Katara claims that the Fire Lord offered to take her home, that she wants to see this through, but how can they know that’s real? How can they know that she’s not being forced to say that? 

When they’d landed in the palace, he’d been fully prepared to grab his sister and run. 

He hadn’t been prepared to find in her Fire Nation clothes but Water Tribe colors, hadn’t been prepared to find her walking the halls with the princess, hadn’t been prepared to find her someone that servants bowed to, that lords and ladies bowed to. He hadn’t been prepared to find her someone that was not only given respect, but commanded it. 

When he’d last seen Katara a year ago, she’d been his annoying, spoiled little sister. She was still that, but she was also something more. 

She moved like Fire Nation now. Demanding and sharp. She moved like a warrior, like a chief. She reminded him more of their father than their mother. 

The idea of his little sister as Fire Lady should be laughable. 

Okay. So visually? It was stunning. In fact, the scenes in Spain were gorgeous. The Leap of Faith was iconic TM as it should have been.

But most of the time, we couldn’t understand what the fuck was going on. I had no reason to be attached to Cal (Michael Fassbender) and no one was memorable.

This movie was based off the series, but it took away everything I loved about it. It takes place in 1492 in the animus and was basically like, fuck Altair & fuck Ezio’s entire existence.

Cal did have 2 characters of color fight alongside him the last part of the movie that I was more interested in - an Asian woman and a Black man. Was this a reference to Shao Jun and Adewale? I don’t know but they were fun to watch.

yeah, that's unfortunate, but the fact the premise doesn't even mention a love interest gives me a sliver of hope

I accidentally typed in Evernight at first and was like OH GOD WHAT NO before I realised my mistake :P

One of the reviews did mention this: 

Along the way she meets a boy named Tric and I fell right in love with him. Mia and Tric were allies and a little bit of a love interest. But this book is not about love, this book is about killing for love. Killing for revenge, killing to do what's right and some more killing in between.

Anyone got any good book recs?

There’s a book called Nevernight coming out august 9th about a girl training to be an assassin for a revenge plot, it looks HELLA good.

Looks interesting! Definitely a premise that always catches my eye. I like that they made it very clear it’s bloody and gory and gritty too haha
