By My Side, A Hogwarts AU (70/80)

goodbye - The world went numb around him, as if he were caught in slow-motion. He trudged after the others as they presumably hurried to Platform 7, each step a mile. He was hugged by Jonghyun first, then Mrs. Kim, then Jonghyun again, who had started tearing up.

The train pulled up behind him as he finally let himself turn to Kibum. The corners of Kibum’s lips twitched like they did when he was trying not to cry. Probably didn’t want to do it in front of him. Which, he could definitely relate to that. Minho opened his arms, stepping forward, and Kibum took a deep breath, nodding as he fell into them.

He held him as tightly as he could, burying his face in his neck. Somewhere close by, someone called for the passengers to board, and Minho just knew they were talking about his train. Would he be able to let go, though? That was the question.

“I love you. So much. Please don’t forget.”

“I’ll do my best not to.”

Minho let out a half-hearted chuckle, pulling out of his embrace to meet Kibum’s eyes again. “Here, I am, trying to say goodbye…”

Kibum smiled, but it didn’t meet his watery eyes. “What’d you expect?”

Description:

Harsh panting filled the cold night in the forest, a pair of red eyes examining the surroundings carefully. It was pitch black but thanks to his newly gained ability, he has a night vision now. His weak body leaning heavily on a tree, he was sweating and shivering at the same time under the thin layer of his clothes. At least it stopped raining even if he's wet from head to toe.

His vision blurred slightly and he started feeling light headed. His shaky left hand reached to the gash at his left side. He could feel the warm liquid rushing out. Breathing heavily, he pushed his weak body up by the help of this right arm. He wants to give up so badly, but he can't yet. The others are depending on him, at least till they get Minho back then he can collapse and let the world end for all he cares.

The light headedness struck again right when he separated himself from the tree making his body sway almost falling down if it wasn't for the branches being in the way. His eyes rolling to the back of his head, almost losing consciousness when he heard the sharp like scream sounds soaring through the night sky right above his head, and then everything went black, he lost control over his body swaying towards the hard wet ground.

"Mr. Hunters' leader, eh?" Minho smiled and dragged Kibum with him towards the living room "Yes Kibum, I'm the leader now, I know you ran away so I won't have a competitor, not that there was any competition in the first place" Kibum immediately slapped his arm "hay! I wasn't that bad"

*CH.2

Minho eyes looked sad and terrorised, his voice sounded broken "I lied to you, they already killed dad, and I'd be damned if I let them get to you, GO!" He pushed Kibum turning him around and slammed the house door. He was left alone close to home, but never actually there.

*CH.3

Kibum's little heart started pounding in his chest while he was being wrapped in Taemin's warm arms carrying him back home. They both walked away not aware of the angry eyes watching them.

"Do you want me to slap you?" The silence was finally broken by Onew's pissed off voice. Minho grinned while answering "Thanks, but no, I'm not into this kind of stuff"

He couldn't imagine going through with watching Minho get dangerously sick even if they weren't twins.

Widening his eyes in a second shock, Jinki stopped in his tracks looking speechless at the kid in front of him. That kid was definitely not Kibum.

ends of the earth - "The fourth and final task is one that tests you on your bravery as well as how well you can operate under pressure. Which, I'm sure the other Champions can attest is something that comes in handy in the real world." Minho glanced back at Harry, doing a double-take when he saw the intensity of his glare at Mr. Caldwell. "You may have noticed an absence this morning." His attention immediately swung back to Cadwell. "Someone close to each of you has been kidnapped by a stench of trolls. It will be your job to find them, and the first one who does, wins the Tournament and the one thousand Galleon prize."

A wave of nausea surged within him, but he gulped it back down. The odds of them...of Kibum actually being held captive by trolls was very slim. He knew that. But the thought of it…

Did Kibum know yesterday? Was that why…Hadn't they already been through enough with the other three trials?

Tears stung his eyes as his throat tightened, but he blinked them away.

days in the sun - The marble floors and golden walls gleamed under the shimmering lights of the crystal chandeliers lining the path to the goblins’ desks. Minho squinted as they made their way to the money exchange desk, Minho handing over notes Mom had given him before she left for work this morning, and Kibum the cheque his mother had sent him last week for emergencies. Minho thanked the goblin when she handed them their envelopes, and they were heading out to the main street before Minseok could say or do anything that would give away his Muggle-ness.

“Where to?” Kibum asked, looking over at Minho once their feet hit the cobblestone.

“Flourish and Blotts. Might as well get our books first before we do anything fun.”

g.n.a.t.s - Kibum hummed in thought and Minho flipped through three notecards before Kibum said, “G.N.A.T.s…”

“What?”

“Gruesomely Necessary Annual Testing.” 

Minho laughed, falling into Kibum’s side before pushing him away. Someone several rows ahead of them shushed them, and Kibum pursed his lips to stop from laughing. Why was it that everything becomes ten times funnier when you’re supposed to be quiet?

what to do? - “So, my mom wrote me,” he said, fishing the letter out of his pocket and passing it to Minho to read. Minho squinted, reading over the short letter where Mom told him that she wouldn’t be able to get back into the country until July at the earliest. Some sort of complications with her work visa, or something.

“Why would he lie to us?” Minho shrugged as they walked down the hallway toward the tower with the moving staircases. “I don’t know if I want to go. You can, if you want,” he added when Minho gasped. “I don’t have any money.”

They braced themselves on the banister when the staircase shifted beneath them. “I’ll buy! I still have a little leftover Christmas money.” 

“You don’t ha -- “

“But I want to, so there.”

A/N: So, I know we've seen Minho's (and occasionally Kibum’s) obvious crush on Professor O'Neely a couple of times, but I just want to make something very clear. There will not be any sort of inappropriate teacher/student relationship, because that's gross. Students having crushes on or admiration for their teacher is a very normal thing. He's a kind mentor for him, and it's only natural that Minho would look up to him...Also, he’s coming to terms with the fact that he is a gay child/teenager, which is a lot to process lol
