The Radha Krsna Temple - Radha Krsna Temple, London (1971)
Hari om - Asha Putli (1990)
Pukar - Calling You - Najma Akhtar (1991)
Supreme Ishq Anarkali - Noor Jehan (2002)
|| the first record was my first introduction to Indian music. It's a collection of chants from the Hare Krsna movement, produced by George Harrison and released under the Apple label. The sound is absolutely spectacular, so immersive and clean, you can hear every instrument distinctly (I especially love the bells).
|| the second record is Asha Puthli's only album where she does not sing in English (at least that I know of). It's mostly covers of famous songs like Michale Jackson's "Smooth Criminal", Gipsy Kings' "Bamboleio". I will probably dedicate a whole post to her in the future.

||the last record is from a Pakistani movie called Anarkali (1958), and half the tracks on the record are very scratchy, but there are tons of recording of the singer on spotify. Noor Jehan was a Pakistani singer and actress who worked in both Pakistani and (British) India cinema. She sang North Indian Classical music (or hindustani classical music), Punjabi and Shindi.
