@shieldedemblem had a very rad and sudden headcanon
They still had a day before it was too late to accomplish... well, whatever his sister had been planning, so she had told everyone to “play nice” and get rest after the day’s fierce fight. Xander had refrained from being too social, still uncertain of why they had all been gathered here of all places, but for the moment he had been distracted by a woman in the Hoshidan ranks.
Blazing crimson armor was a dead giveaway for a pesky Chevois traitor that had been giving him and the Nohrian army a run for their money. A daring spirit and a well trained wyvern had been vexatious beyond belief with their well executed plots and strikes, and yet here she was folded into Corrin’s ranks with a smirk and a grin. This was his first proper look at one who had caused his campaign much grief, and marched closer, but rather than break out into fury he had found himself coming to a halt and staring once he was close enough.
“Hold on... you...” It had been years. Such a long time hadn’t changed her much from what he remembered, but perhaps he was only dreaming... Or reliving a nightmare of an age he had thought long put to rest. “Scarlet? Scarlet, is that you?” He had heard there was a prominent figure calling herself by that name, but it was a common name in Cheve; it was not unreasonable to doubt if it was really her.
Maybe it was only his mind playing tricks in the odd twilight of the Bottomless Canyon.
