A faint smile tipped the corners of Bucky’s mouth upward as he watched Steve’s approach. The captain looked disheveled, as though he’d just woken up. Wasn’t terribly unlikely, given it must have been near on to three in the morning. Not that time of day - or days, for that matter - had much meaning in deep space, but you had to keep track of how long you’d been out here somehow. Bucky didn’t sleep much, though, so he had started to learn the other crew members’ habits when it came to most anything that had them out around the ship at hours when most people would be in their bunks.
“More like early,” Bucky replied. Steve did have a point, though, he supposed. Whereas Steve was dressed for bed, Bucky was still in his uniform jacket and pants. Insofar as one could consider them a uniform, anyway. They were things that had come with him from before. Still, the point remained. “Couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d do the rounds. You?”
