The Balam and Kalego sukima/comic lives rent free in my head and I am SO glad it got animated.
Also having it animated and voice acted just drives home how blatantly ‘I’m only here cause it’s to noisy downstairs’ is just, an excuse.
Like, Kalego says this, but he literally brought up enough food for the both of them to eat. And he darn well knew that Balam would have been eating alone otherwise.
And Balam’s little knowing laugh + ‘oh nothing’ right at the end. Yeah, Kalego should know better than to lie to the walking lie detector who ALSO happens to be his closest companion/friend lol. He’s there to keep him company and Balam knows it. Which I think it very sweet.
side note but, in the manga this sukima/comic is titled ‘This is why I’ll never get married you know’ and I still don’t know which of these the titles refers. Cause the comic, does not explain.
