——————  BILLOWING THOUGHTS BURST THROUGH HIS mind like wind through curtains. Even as they stood in the foyer of the home, he already couldn’t help the excitement that crept through his chest, heart hammering against ribcage. Whenever Tanya promised him things, it meant something grand was about to happen ; maybe he was a little optimistic and this was some goof about to hit him dead in the face (a pie, a random snake, some bugs, whatever), but his mind hyperfixated on just the idea of a gift. 

     Did he forget it was his birthday again?

     The atmosphere of the home could be so suffocating that any date could be overlooked. One year, he’d forgotten that it was the first day of school and burst through his room with a toothbrush in his mouth and a comb halfway through his hair in a hurry. Of course, that day, he’d been berated for forgetting something SO IMPORTANT to the point he was nearly shrunken down in a corner before he left, but this wasn’t like that -- it didn’t matter. Whatever Tanya had planned (mischievous or not), he’d accept with open arms. 

     ❝ Alright, what’re you planning...? ❞ Eyes lit up beneath skin that covered them, crescent shape taking hold as mouth turned upward into smile, leaving his voice to crack in its inability to hold itself together.

      The little witch knew something wasn't right here. A part of her just wondered if she was paranoid. Because some Townie creeper was looking through her window at night, quickly, she downed another shot, anxious. "You haven't noticed anything strange about this town….Have you?"
