It's 1 in the morning, I can't sleep, so I wrote a thing like the giant baby I am.
I could have told him I loved him a million times but I donāt think, even looking back now, IĀ would'veĀ had the heart to share my truth. Ā He was in his own world,Ā following a path set for him. Ā I had my own route to complete. Even though our paths crossed many a times; our destinies were different. Ā He was meant to thrive and protect the people he called his own. Ā I was meant to become a sacrifice, just another story in the history books.
The first human spectre.
The peacemaker of Tuchunka.
I wish our lives could have knotted and become braided, never separating or straying. Ā That, however, is not Fateās design. Ā I feel my thread unwinding, becoming frayed and weak, soon it will break.
Breathing becomes shallow, eyelids flutter weakly, my body burns in its contorted state among the rubble and mess. The blood loss draws me closer to sleep, urging me to rest for once.
I feel my lip quiver with regret but I force a smile. Ā Heāll find happiness and fuel flames of hope and prosperity. Ā I can see the restoration of glory and genuine pride on his face. Heāll arrogantly boast about the progress thatās been made and invite everyone across the galaxy to come and gawk at the greatness of the Krogan. Ā While he trumps around happily showing the world to onlookers there will be small children running around his feet smiling and reaching for him calling his attention with āPapa, Papaā as they laugh.
My body feels cold. Ā The sky is becoming darker. Ā My mouth feels dry. Ā I close my eyes,Ā I'veĀ reached my end.
I could have said āI loved youā a million times and maybe, just maybe, a million times heĀ would'veĀ answered me with āI love you, too.ā
