it was quiet. aside from the crickets she could hear around her and the soft crackles of the fire in front of her. but other than that, there wasn’t a sound to be heard. they weren’t sure where they were headed, but tara was hoping it would be some place amazing, some place with food and water and an actual bed. a place where no walkers could get in and make them leave again. she didn’t sleep much. used to always being the one awake, looking out over those that she was with, making sure that they got the sleep they needed. it was just the way that tara was. she heard movement though and her head turns to see carol in the fire light. she hadn’t got a chance to talk with her. though she seemed nice, she also saw what she was capable of, and it scared tara a little. “you can sit. i wouldn’t mind the company.” she whispers out to her, unsure if carol would want to. but the offer was there, or maybe carol was heading back to sleep. whatever the case, tara wasn’t going anywhere.
