oh gosh, i'm so sorry you're in the same boat as me because this sucks! i've got so many drafts & i'm honestly super overwhelmed :( but no matter! we'll both get through this <33

i think i'll just share some snippets from the two main drafts i have going on & maybe a couple from the smaller drafts i have (prepare for a tiny long ramble, haha).
this is scene one from a cod fic i'm working on, it's called 'we are the sick':
and this is scene two from the same fic:
it's going to be a long, angsty, hurt/comfort, found family sort of fic where the reader is partially mute for a while & also severely touch aversed. so uh, yippee :)
and then here's a scene from an untitled jason todd fic i'm working on set in outer space!
i'm pretty excited about this one tbh (it's inspired mostly by the 2013 gravity movie), but i've been struggling with fleshing out the plot.
i technically have two other jason fics in the works as well, one of which is a request & the other is a rewrite + a part two (and later on a part three, hopefully). but i sent myself into a weird spiral while working on them, so i'm taking a break from those.
as for the smaller drafts, those are... very slowly getting longer, lol. there's some random ones for 'the gray man' & 'the nice guys'. i'll share some snippets of those.
this is for a sierra six (the gray man) drabble thingy (it's set in a moving train):

both are probably still going to be heavily edited, but uhhhh yeah. it's a lot, not to mention a couple of other requests & some projects for one of my mutuals.
i feel like i just dramatically slid a couple of manila folders across a desk your way like we're detectives working on a case, lol.
anyways, you & i shall persevere! it sucks, but we'll eventually finish the things we're working on. idk if you relate to this, but my problem with finishing or just working on stuff in general stems from a weird sense of imposter syndrome paired with insane perfectionism.

hehe im so happy you liked the fic!!! I wrote like 90% i think two months ago, and only revisited a couple of days ago so i didnt have as much passion for it as i did when i first did. Your reblog reminded me why i liked the fic idea so much, i really wanted to show that itβs okay to not finish everything you do, as long as youβre having fun doing it. Then i started thinking about isolating from the others, and how much thatβd further affect reader. Simon is a kinda straightforward get the job done. No fun music, no 4 tea breaks for the hell of it, like he kinda just does it because he knows it needs to be done and i wanted him to try apply that to a creative process, trying to focus only on that one thing when inspiration comes from literally everything around us. and yeah, absolutely - simon is the sort of man who will think of something to do & immediately get it done, like an itch he has to scratch. (i like to thinkβin comparison to reboot ghost listening to virtually nothing during tasksβ09 ghost listens to soft rock while working).
i love love love that you explored how ghost would approach the creative process & how he'd lack the understanding of how inspiration works for some people (reader). i think you did an incredible job with that. and literally !! so much of everything i write about is just human connection. without it, i wouldn't write at all.
trust me, sheepie, your fic was lovely. i completely get you with feeling like the fic will suck (it very much did not) because you didn't explicitly state the theme you were going with, but you'll be surprised by how much your audience can read between the lines.
