Dogwood wound into a circle for the base of the wreath
Ivy wrapped round and secured by tucking bits into the gaps in the dogwood
Holly is added in the same way, and a piece of willow is fashioned into a loop to hang the wreath up by, cutting out the need for string or ribbon.
Crab apples are added for some colour, as the birds (quite rightfully) always get to the Holly berries before we do! Mistletoe is also added, dangling below the willow loop, and bay is added at the base of the loop.
Some personal touches are added, such as feathers from our chickens, ducks and geese, and wool from the sheep.
Hanging the wreath on the front door always feels really special when you have made it yourself and I love the tradition in my family of my making it on the Solstice
After working with all that wool, my fingers now smell like sheep. Nice clean sheep, but sheep nonetheless.

So I've got round to skim reading an article about how to wash raw fleece, which is at least one step closer to doing it.
Also read an article about the pros and cons of "spinning in the grease" (unwashed) and decided it was not appropriate for this fleece. So that's also a concrete step forward - definitely decided to wash it.
