About that new secret dialogue in Chapter 5...
For those unaware, there's been an update to Deltarune just today, and it added something, very, very interesting...
If you managed to get the Chapter 5 Egg, and then get hurt by FRIEND in a hidden encounter... go back to Pink's shop after her fight, you'll get this special dialogue, which is below
And there's some very interesting implications from some of the dialogue.
You know that Eggs are a good source of protein?
Mew Mew would also note that people would either go into hiding or change appearances to get away from the "cats". The Forgotten Man had always been hidden behind a tree...
What makes this even more suspicious is the fact that Eggs are counted as "Evidence"
And Gaster apparently calls the Eggs "Issues"...
This can mean one of two things: 1. Evidence is usually paired with a "criminal" who committed the crime. The Eggs are evidence of FRIEND's crime. The Ch 4 Forgotten Man room (Therapy) took place next to the room where a Philosopher says "Lost where the forest would grow, the children followed the pointed tail." all jumbled up, and the ROOTS Prophecy. Or... 2. Someone is trying to erase the evidence. Using FRIEND (or the pack of FRIENDs) to erase the eggs which are evidence of a certain event that isn't meant to be known or remembered by other characters.
Actually, maybe both can work at the same time...
We need to keep in mind that the Eggs are not meant to be too important, but not unimportant either, so it might not be too mandatory for the story... Dragging FRIEND into this may also lead to them turning out to be similar. Which tracks with how subtle they were throughout the chapters so far. But this definitely means something. People definitely won't overthink this. I won't overthink this. Totally not.
