My response to some messages discussing covering fresh sh due to it being triggering for me.
Me: It shouldn't matter if I am attending. If stuff is fresh, it should be covered in public or around others unless they specifically say they're okay with it. Essentially, if it would get removed if you posted it on social media, then you should cover it. Healed scars are not an issue at all; it's just the fresher stuff. You never know who you could trigger with fresh stuff, and it's just common decency to cover it, especially if it is obvious it is self-harm. I hope this is specific enough and explained enough. This is not meant to come across as rude or anything, I'm just trying to explain as best I can.
