I have been shaving with a straight razor for nearly 2 months and I will have to say I was surprised about how awesome this Wade & Butcher straight razor felt in my hands when I first got it. The thickness is tremendous and I don't have to grasp at it, while nearly dropping it to the floor, like I have done with a 5/8's. Plus I love the scales on this beauty as they feel solid and very slick and definitely unlike a cheap plastic. But what did I expect with it being made out of black horn ? I'm not certain if it is made out of bovine or some other type of animal. Here is some awesome information about this beautiful, 8/8's size, Vintage straight razor, that's still in incredible shape. Info; "Wade and Butcher Sheffield, straight razor, shave ready and stropped, ready for a shave! The size is slightly over 8/8, it is quite a beast, and it is scaled in black horn with a lead wedge. #shavingcommunity #shavelikeyourgrandpa #wadeandbutcher
