"Hiyori-chan~. If you need anything to get settled or at all don't hesitate to ask~."
âIâd like Aizenâs fuckinâ balls in a food processor thanks!â
Hiyoriâs eyes are hard and mean as sheâs staring at his face. Liar liar...
She had once liked Kyoraku. He had been a good mentor and one of the more easygoing captains. But everything had changed for Hiyori.Â
âI hate shinigami,â she told him. âYa donât owe me shit.â
Here he was, welcoming her like the last century or more had not occurred. As if he had given a damn about Hiyori-Chan.
Donât call her by this name. That girl no longer exists.
âJust be good âta my friends. Thatâs all ya need âta do now.â
But... whilst Hiyori pretended she did not have a heart... sometimes that sad little organ inside her chest stirred. And she was unable to maintain that cruel expression on her face for very long. Because she recognised that horrendous ache in his eye. He was also suffering.
And Hiyori couldnât bring it in herself to... to make him suffer any more. He had already suffered a significant loss. Her hard exterior crumbled and she could feel her shoulders slumping. A moment of surrender as she acknowledged just what had been taken from them both.
ââM sorry for Ukitake-Taichou.â
That kindness, that devastating smile, his clear laughter- - âMy my, Hiyori-Chan, you will be such a fine lieutenant - - I have so much faith in you! You are an asset to your division - I hope my lieutenant is just as energetic as you!â And he had beamed at her, like he could not have been more proud.Â
Hiyoriâs lips curved downwards at the recollection.
âI really hate shinigami, you know⌠but I still didnât want any of you hurt. I wish I could swap my life for Ukitakeâs. I am so very sorry, Kyoraku-Taichou. I hate you all. I keep saying I hate you, every single shinigami.., and I do... but I still... feel so... so sad heâs gone. âM sorry. I ainât a good friend... but Lisa will... Lisa... she never forgot ya.â
