closed starter for @sharpestbow location: The Annual Muse & Motion Workshop, Fantasia Theatre
As Max was learning in real time, Terpsichore, Muse of Dance and Fantasia Theatre favorite, had hosted a dance workshop every summer for the last two years. And apparently, this year was all about classic jazz.
Jazz squares? Easy.
Fan kicks? He could still manage those.
ChainΓ© turns? Muscle memory had him covered.
A calypso leap? Okay, that was where things started getting questionable.
He knew exactly how to do one. Whether his body still agreed was an entirely different question.
He didn't regret trusting Kate. She was pretty much the coolest person he knew, but Max's wheelhouse had always leaned more contemporary, hip-hop, and commercial jazz. He'd spent years learning choreography off Powerline music videos until he could imitate the guy well enough to fool an entire auditorium. Classic jazz, though? That worked muscles he hadn't asked this much of in years.
He exhaled softly, nodding along as Terpsichore continued to give them an overview of the class. The urge to stretch only grew stronger as she neared the end. Max reached down to touch his toes before shifting his weight over his left leg.
"You know, I think you have too much faith in me," he murmured to Kate.
