Her feline senses prickling at the change in her mother’s scent, the sudden warmth in her body when she’s usually much cooler to the touch, how Emma probably doesn’t even realise she’s expecting until her daughter mentions it to her one day.
Emma is reaching for her usual afternoon drink when Catseye lifts her head up from where she’s been laying across the White Queen’s lap (she’s been awful cuddly these past few days…) and quietly asks about her and Jean Grey. The questioning is out of the blue, especially coming from Sharon of all her children, so Emma pauses and answers that she and Jean have just been seeing each other lately. Their relationship isn’t a secret, per se, but it’s not something she really flaunts, especially not around her girls.
So, when Catseye asks if Jean can get her pregnant, Emma, startled, drops her drink.
“What?”
“Mama, you’re going to have a baby,” Sharon says. “I can smell it.”
Emma blinks, meets Catseye’s worried stare, and knows in that moment that her daughter isn’t lying. Knows that Sharon’s assumption about Jean being the one to get her this way would be correct.
And now, it’s starting to sink in that, oh god, Emma’s pregnant.

Aw, you’re not a fake fan! She’s a pretty deep cut, so it’s understandable on why not a lot of people know about her
Her name is Sharon Smith or Catseye, she was Emma’s first daughter, adopted during her Hellfire Club days. She’s a mutant with the ability to turn into a purple cat, and Emma basically picked her off the street and put her onto the original Hellions team at the Massachusetts Academy
She was killed alongside the other Hellions, and that was catalyst for Emma to turn her back on being a villain and start her journey into joining the X-Men
Catseye was later resurrected on Krakoa with the Resurrection Protocols, so you can spot her around in some of the more modern comics! She’s not brought up much though, more of just a background character, and the role of Emma’s daughter has been passed on to the Stepford Cuckoos
Do you think the Cuckoos would be jealous of the attention Emma gives Jeff the Land Shark. She did buy him that Dinosaur costume.
I think the Cuckoos would be right there with their mum in showering Jeff with gifts and affection
Especially Celeste
Celeste would be throwing hands with her sisters to cuddle with the shark. She has a very mean girl reputation, but she loooves cute things
Esme is taking pictures of her for blackmail
Sophie and Phoebe are busy making little outfits for Jeff, Irma is showering him with pets, and Sharon acts like a very fluffy pillow for him
