Extraordinary is the new single from London based collaborative, Clean Bandit. I'm sure this new single will hold great expectations for many after the chart-topping success of Rather Be, however, I can truly say, after a few listens, I'm hooked. As a pre-Rather Be Clean Bandit fan, the single is another carefully constructed mix of sophisticated and delicate strings with driving 90s-influenced house synths. The addition of the steel pans in the bridge and chorus adds extra instrumental texture to the song, without which, I worry Extraordinary may be compared too much to its predecessor, Rather Be. Despite their lack of a lead singer or member, the band still remain relevant - vocalist Sharna Bass heads this single, adding her own unique vocal style to the traditional and much-loved Clean Bandit sound, and this time, featuring in the video. Again, the visuals are just as striking as the song, with Grace elegantly playing her cello perched on a branch overlooking a vast lake, whilst Jack manages to continue playing a sinking piano. My only initial reservations regarding said single were that the verses seem to be rather wordy, however, I think this was just a first-listen glitch! Another undisputed hit from Clean Bandit - I can't wait for the much anticipated album!
